Kristil Golden Retrievers

It is a family affair indeed! Kristi's daughter Alissa is 10 years old now, and she is just starting off her show career and of course, Alissa is dog crazy, having been born into this lifestyle. I expect she will follow in her mother's footsteps. Kristi's son Easton also has taken a real interest in showing dogs,a total natural at showing, I think he just absorbed it from all of his time watching his Mom in the ring, and he has been working for his mother, and other handlers learning how to groom and care for the dogs on the road. Our husbands, Harry and Brad are supportive and put up with all of the crazy schedules and demands on their lives.

Kristil Goldens is located in Southern Wis, on the state line between Wis and Ill. We have been showing and raising show dogs for about 35 years now.

Myself, Deb Oster, and my daughter, Kristilyn Falkenthal, hit the show circuit nearly every weekend. Our kennel name is derived from my daughter's first name Kristi,and her middle initial L.

I am the consummate groomer, and I love doing all of the research of pedigrees, raising of pups, and daily care of the dogs. Kristi is never happier than when she is in the ring showing against tough competition. We make a great team. Kristi is a professional handler, so when we head off to a show, it is with a full van or motorhome, and lots of work ahead.

No one could do what we do without husbands that are active and supportive. Our homes are designed around our dogs. You have to have a real passion for showing dogs. It is a tough job, with unbelievable competition, so we must be totally prepared when we walk into the ring.
It is a challenge that we love and accept with joy!
